Chris Mihm, Managing Member
Chris is a long-time resident of the Mankato area. After graduating from Mankato State University with a degree in accounting, he moved to the Twin Cities where he practiced as a CPA for six years gaining valuable business experience. After starting a family, Chris and his wife, Kristine, felt drawn back to the Mankato area where they moved in 1999. Chris started a satellite mortgage office where he worked until he was hired by Wells Fargo Home Mortgage. Chris worked as a home mortgage consultant with Wells Fargo for 13 years and was committed to providing an excellent customer experience. Over the years, Chris has seen family members struggle to remain independent in their own homes. His first experience at a younger age was seeing the toll that Alzheimer’s took on his grandparents’ relationship. Ultimately, his grandfather had to be placed in a nursing home as his grandmother was not able to care for him on her own. Chris has always had a desire to make a positive impact on people’s lives and believes that Freedom Home Care will be able to provide the Mankato area with first class home care. Chris and his wife, Kristine, have three children who keep them very busy with their various activities. In his free time, Chris enjoys cooking, traveling and spending time at the lake with family and friends. He is also very involved in the community as a volunteer coach for his kids’ activities.
Andy Nessler, Managing Member
Andy is a life-long resident of Mankato. After graduating from Minnesota State University, Mankato he began his career with Wells Fargo, first as a Business Banker and then as a Home Mortgage Consultant. Andy has been with Wells Fargo for 12 years. Andy’s passion for family drew him to the Home Care industry. Andy knows the importance of caring for family members and friends as modeled by his own parents. He wants Freedom Home Care, LLC to be known for its commitment to communicating with clients and their families.
Christine Nessler, Business Relations, CSA
Certified Senior Advisor
Christine has been a part of the Mankato community for 15 years. As a long-time member of the community, Christine takes pride in providing non-medical home care services to friends, family and neighbors in Southern Minnesota. Christine gained valuable experience working with aging adults as a Certified Nurse Aide while in high school and college. Her career path in Mankato has provided Public Relations and Marketing experience in government, for-profit and non-profit arenas. Christine sees home care as a way to help people in the community by allowing them to live independently in a comfortable environment for as long as possible. Christine is very active in the community through her involvement in the local ACT on Alzheimer’s Committee, the Greater Mankato Rotary and her church. With her husband Andy, Christine is raising three children in Mankato.
Dawn Madson, Registered Nurse
Dawn knew from an early age that she wanted to be a nurse. She would help care for her great grandmother and was always willing to help with her grandfather who struggled with emphysema and COPD. She took this passion and became a registered nurse. For more than 30 years, Dawn has had a career at Mayo Clinic Health System in Mankato. The past 19 years she has had the role of administrative supervisor. In her spare time, Dawn enjoys spending time with her daughter, reading, walking, cooking, traveling, lunching with friends and Bible study.
Patty Christensen, Registered Nurse
Patty grew up in a career military family living in Japan and various states across the United States. Patty has lived in Mankato for 25 years with her husband, Bob, where they raised their three children. She was a stay-at-home mom for twenty years during which time she was an active volunteer in Mankato Area Public Schools, Mankato Youth Soccer Association, on the founding Educare Board, and founding committee for Bridges School, and served on the Immanuel St. Joseph’s Foundation. Patty is currently a Backpack Food Program board member. Patty has been a registered nurse for 36 years. She stared in intensive care, taught childbirth classes, volunteered in a pre-natal clinic, and for the past four years worked part-time in women’s health. She has just completed 15 years as a sales associate at Exclusively Diamonds in Mankato. Patty enjoys cooking, bicycle riding, reading, spending time outdoors, and traveling, especially internationally.
Jennifer loves calling Mankato her home after moving to Minnesota over 25 years ago. She has a background with sales, marketing, office management, and staff development. She has enjoyed helping families find home care and senior living for their senior family members. She is known to make people laugh and smile and is always welcoming when visiting with her. Jennifer has three children and a spoiled dog. For the past six summers Jennifer and her husband, Noel have pulled the band trailer, chaperoned and volunteered for the Mankato Area 77 Lancers. When she is not following the marching band Jennifer can be found at retreats quilting or scrapbooking with her friends.
Sharon Chader, LSW
Sharon has been working with older adults for over 46 years. She has experience in caring for chronically mentally ill older adults, was a hospice social worker and previously owned Elder Care Services, Inc.—recently acquired by Freedom Home Care. Sharon has a degree from Minnesota State University, Mankato, graduating summa cum laude with a degree in social work and sociology. She is an advanced professional member of the Aging Life Care Association and is a Certified Care Manager by the National Academy of Certified Care Managers. Sharon currently serves on the Minnesota State University, Mankato’s Social & Behavioral Sciences Advisory Council, the Mankato ACT on Alzheimers Committee and the Minnesota State University, Mankato Chesley Center on Aging. In her spare time, Sharon enjoys gardening, fishing, camping, helping with church youth and traveling.
Ann Cesafsky, LSW
Ann is a licensed social worker and has been working with older adults for years. Ann has a degree from Minnesota State University, Mankato, graduating magna cum laude with a degree in social work. Her experience includes working with The Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) and Elder Care Services, Inc. Ann always knew she wanted to work with people and takes interest in in other’s stories, their history and the joys and struggles they faced as they aged. Her experience with the elderly and their families has given her a desire to promote their individual needs, as well as focusing on giving compassionate care. In her spare time, Ann enjoys spending time with her husband, two children and dog. Her hobbies include reading, scrap-booking, connecting with friends, walking the dog and watching movies.
Erin Lanska Grant, LSW
Erin’s experience includes working as a direct support professional, personal care attendant and home health aid. She has a degree from Minnesota State University, Mankato in social work and is a licensed social worker with the state of Minnesota. She completed an internship with Minnesota Rehabilitation Center Inc., The Ombudsman Office for Mental Illness and Developmentally Disabled and Minnesota Valley Action Council. Erin feels working in different aspects of care has given her a better understanding of caregiving on a day-to-day basis. In her spare time, Erin enjoys spending time with her family, playing games, watching movies, reading, cross stitching, going for walks and church activities.
Amanda Voss, Scheduling Coordinator
Amanda grew up in Nicollet, Minnesota. She attended Presentaton College in Fairmont, Minnesota where she graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Health Care Services and Science. Amanda worked for Mayo Clinic Health System for five years in the Radiology Department and Sleep Medicine. Amanda is a mother of three fur babies (dogs) and has been happily married to her husband Scott, for the last seven years. Amanda found her true passion working with people with Dementia, Alzheimer’s Disease and other brain altering diseases while working in a memory care unit. After seeing the decline in health when individuals are out of their own surroundings, Amanda decided she was going to do whatever she could to help people stay in their own homes as long as possible. She is thrilled to become a part of Freedom Home Care as the Scheduling Coordinator.
