Providing much-needed relief for primary caregivers.
Many people provide daily assistance to loved ones so they are able to remain living in their homes. It is a very honorable thing to do but can also be very mentally and physically demanding. If you are beginning to feel tired, overwhelmed, frustrated or trapped it may be time to ask for help.
Respite care offers much-needed relief for primary caregivers. Just a few hours a day, a few times a week can help to relieve burden and stress. We recommend a consistent respite schedule for the well-being of the family caregiver, but we can also help provide respite for a special event like a vacation or a family wedding. In that circumstance, we recommend a few visits prior to the special event in order to allow the client to become comfortable with the caregiver.
Having respite care could mean you have time to take a walk, visit with a friend, run errands or just get a good night’s sleep. Whatever you need to do to feel refreshed. Getting respite care for your loved one is very important for your own health and well-being.
Freedom Home Care offers in-home caregivers that are able to provide assistance with dressing, feeding, grooming, bathing and using the bathroom. They can also prepare meals, shop, provide companionship or provide light housekeeping. We also offer Case Management services to help you navigate through some of the challenges of being a primary caregiver for your loved one.
