James Hanson serves as the Sales and Marketing Director for Freedom Home Care, bringing a fresh and heartfelt perspective to the home care field. Although newer to the industry, James draws on meaningful experience from his time in hospice care as well as his own personal journey—having relied on home care services for both of his parents during their final years. This gives him a deep, authentic understanding of the trust families place in caregivers and the importance of compassionate, client-centered support.

Before joining Freedom Home Care, James built a successful career in education and coaching, working with students and athletes at both the high school and collegiate levels. These roles strengthened his communication, relationship-building, and leadership skills—qualities that now guide his work in connecting families, caregivers, and community partners with Freedom Home Care’s mission and services.

James holds a Bachelor’s degree in History (Social Studies) Education from the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls, IA, and a Master’s degree in Educational Administration and Leadership. He is also a proud member of LeadingAge Minnesota, staying engaged with statewide efforts to support aging services, advocacy, and professional development.

Outside of work, James enjoys spending time with his children and attending music, theater, and sporting events.
